Lighthouse offers grandstand views
When looking for a spot to capture seascapes, you can't go past a lighthouse. When all is considered they were built to protect. Many a ship will have floundered without them. The wild elements of wind, storms, rough seas, rocks and ragged coastlines and above all their vantage points, were all instrumental in their location. So it follows there must be some great opportunities for photographers. Driving a coastal road, watching a storm front building offshore, the question arose, where to capture it?
Tacking Point Lighthouse, was a short distance away. With luck the light would hold, before the clouds covered the sun.....
A polite conversation with a few tourists and the coast was clear, (couldn't resist). A minute later the light was gone.
